1. Ragunan Zoo

It is a 147 hectares park and home for 2.000 specimens from mammals, birds, sea creatures, and reptiles, it is also covered more than 50.000 trees. They built the area for it to become a modern and leading zoo. Located in Pasar Minggu, Ragunan Zoo has become probably one of the most popular zoos in Indonesia. 

The attractions that you could visit inside are the Schmutzer Primate Centre that has various types of Indonesian primates including orangutans, gorillas, Chimpanzees, and rare species of primates from other domestic and foreign countries. The reflection area is also a good place to take a break for lunch with your friends or family, or if you’d just want to go for a relaxing stroll. There is also the children’s zoo and recreation area where children could interact with animals and fishes, while you could go and have a ride in a camel, horse, or elephant. 2. Faunaland Ancol

Ancol is one of the biggest recreation park in Indonesia, it has everything you’d wish for as a park, from zoos, aquariums, and even an adventure park. Faunaland is one of the parks that you could visit in Ancol. It has an area of about 5 hectares that consists of land and water. They chose the concept of Papua because its a diversion of Asia and Australia which have unique animals and plants.

Although the zoo isn’t big but you could still find and enjoy learning a number of various species throughout the zoo like the cassowaries, wombats, and even lions, turtles, and more from other foreign countries! They provide you a petting zoo with the animals, you could even feed them! They also have bird shows if you come in a lucky time.

3. Jakarta Aquarium

Jakarta Aquarium is the most popular and modern aquarium in Indonesia. It is said to be the largest aquarium in Indonesia, not only does this aquarium display many magnificent sea creatures and even creatures that live on land and the water, but they also provide performances, 5D theaters, interactive spaces with the sea creatures, and more to explore and experience! 

The display is usually scheduled like the cascade, the outer reef creators, and more. But there are other animals that are on display daily like octopuses, piranhas, penguins, and more. Their display is divided into different zones according to where the animals live, don’t worry, they provide you a map to go around. 4. Seaworld Ancol

As stated before, Seaworld is located in Ancol, one of the biggest recreation park in Indonesia. Seaworld is one of the attraction parks that you could visit to explore sea life on display. Not only that, but you could also learn about sea life and still have fun! It conserves over 7.300 sea creatures with over 19 aquariums and every aquarium has its theme on its own. You could even watch the divers underwater performances in the feeding shows.

There are many displays that you could enjoy and learn in Seaworld, there’s sharks, turtles, a touch pool, a tunnel filled with many sea creatures, interactive pools, and much more!
