Led by Chef Kazumasa Yazawa (a.k.a Chef Kaz), OKU has an omakase-style dining service with a unique twist. OKU proves its quality by only serving the best and authentic Japanese menus. All their seafood is sent twice a week all the way from the famous Tsukiji Fish Market, which makes the tastes of the dishes from OKU very fresh and authentic. The atmosphere at OKU helps you relax so that you enjoy one of the best Japanese cuisines in town.

2. Tatemukai

All the way from Japan, this omakase-style restaurant is now available at Grand Indonesia shopping center, Jakarta. Tatemukai, a famous omakase-style restaurant that is led by Chef Tate-san, who will present authentic Japanese specialties that will surprise you. The menu served is very diverse, ranging from sushi, wagyu beef, seared salmon, and many more. And keep in mind that all food that is served to you will be a surprise because this is omakase-style dining!

Came here for dinner on a wednesday evening. Place is very quiet, maybe around 8 people present including us. Omakase dinner was good, i think it was better last time. Liked the foie gras toto sashimi, botan ebi, scallop and especially lobster was very good. Service is great.

3. Sushi Ichi

Experience the authentic taste of Japan through omakase-style dining at Sushi Ichi, the famed Michelin – starred Tokyo restaurant in Jakarta led by Chef Masakazu Ishibashi. Nestled under Pullman Hotel Jakarta, Sushi Ichi has the most outstanding service out of all the Japanese restaurants in town. Sushi Ichi is the only Japanese restaurant that gets its fish every single day all the way from the famous Tsukiji Fish Market in Japan, so there is no need to doubt the freshness of the food here. This restaurant is closed every Monday because the Tsukiji Fish Market is closed on Sundays, and keep in mind that this restaurant is by reservation only. So make sure you make a reservation first!

The food is so fresh and amazing! Maybe the only place in Jakarta where I can taste fresh wasabi right after the fruit shredded. Chef Jun Nagano was friendly and considerate. He asked me whether I want more rice in the sushi or not. Awesome! A true 5 stars restaurant with 5 stars service and servings.

Located inside Plaza Indonesia, Central Jakarta, Senju Omakase is a Japanese restaurant with varied menus such as teppanyaki, donburi, sashimi, sushi, and Omakase-style. Here you can order omakase service, and sit at a long marble table while watching the chef mastering your dishes while you guess what kind of sweet surprise will be served by the chef for you. The omakase course ranging from appetizer, assorted sashimi and sushi, cooked dishes, soup, and dessert will fill your tummy right away!

5. 71st Omakase

71st Omakase is one of Jakarta’s hidden gems. Located in Cikajang, Senopati, South Jakarta, many people say it’s a little bit hard to find this restaurant because it doesn’t look like a typical restaurant. But once you enter, the cozy ambiance welcomes you and prepares you for an authentic Japanese dining experience. The founder of this omakase-style restaurant actually first opened this branch in New York, at 71st Street Queens to be exact. Not getting an advanced visa to stay longer and continue their business there, they decided to return to Indonesia. And finally, they opened the 71st Omakase restaurant in Cikajang, Senopati.

Omakase-style dining at 71st brings authentic Japanese flavors through the sweet surprises served by the chef, which, of course, will amaze you beyond words. This restaurant provides both omakase-style and a la carte service. For omakase-style dining, you need to reserve at least one day before your dining date.

A delightful 12-course dining experience with heavenly food in legit every single bites! It might looks small but on the 6th course my tummy feels like its gonna explode and its barely halfway done!
