1. Breakfast at Jin Bao

Jin Bao is a restaurant that serves unique dishes inspired ional Chinese cuisines such as Bao, Sheng Jian Bao, noodle bowls, and others. The restaurant is located near Starbucks Pondok Indah Kapuk, you will be able to spot the restaurant immediately due to their big red signage. The interior design of the restaurant is actually kind of decent, there is no big theme going on at the restaurant. On one side of the wall, it’s decorated with a big sketch of a town, and the other side of the wall is green colored with some texture going on. 

Breakfast at Jin Bao means that you should try their Sheng Jian Bao, a pan-fried dumpling filled with a blend of minced pork. There are various choices for the fillings of the Sheng Jian Bao, but if we have to recommend you one. We will recommend you to try their Sheng Jian Bao with Classic Pork Filling. The Sheng Jian Bao has a great texture, it is very juicy, not to mention the filling, it is very tasty. You might want to add some condiment to the Sheng Jian Bao that is provided such as soy, ginger, chili, and garlic. Another menu that you should try is their signature Hong Shao Bao, a Bao burger consists of marinated caramel pork belly, red onion pickle, and peanut powder. As for the Bao, you can enjoy it as you like, whether it is steamed, toasted, or deep-fried. It is up to you! The taste is very interesting yet delicious at the same time.

2. Lunch at Goobne Chicken

If you are craving for a Korean fried chicken, then Goobne Chicken is your answer! Goobne Chicken is a restaurant originated from South Korea. As it is a Korean fried chicken, therefore it will be no surprise right if its different from our regular fried chicken? Instead of deep-frying the chicken, they baked the chicken in an oven with no oil, so it’s kind of a healthier version of fried chicken, right? Aside from fried chicken, they have plenty of other menus as well, such as tteokbokki, a spicy rice cake, japchae, noodles, and others. 

If you are having a hard time deciding what to order, we recommend you to try their Goobne Korean Galbi Sauce, an oven-baked chicken that is drizzled with galbi sauce that has the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The chicken is very juicy, even their chicken breast is juicy, it’s amazing how they can maintain the moisture of the chicken. Another menu that you should try is their Cheese Dakgalbi, but beware as the portion is quite a lot. Cheese Dakgalbi is a Korean spicy stir-fried chicken that has been marinated with spicy and sweet chili paste. The dish is cooked with cabbage, onion, sweet potato, rice cake, and a lot of cheese on an iron plate. The taste is very creamy due to the crazy amount of cheese, but the taste is perfect as it balances out the spiciness from the chicken.

3. Dinner at KANPAI

KANPAI is a modern Japanese restaurant and bar by Sushi Hiro Group. Kanpai is located at Ruko Garden House, aligned with Sushi Hiro just a few doors away. If you are passing by Kanpai, you should be able to locate the restaurant easily, as they have an eye-catching exterior with the neon lights beaming through the glass. The restaurant has a strong Izakaya Bar concept. The restaurant is decorated with a lot of colorful neon lights, it looks very quirky yet beautiful. Well, we gotta say that Kanpai is very Instagrammable, as there are a lot of good spots to take pictures! As the place is filled with a lot of neon lights, we highly recommend you to visit the place at night when all the neon lights are turned on. 

The restaurant offers a wide range of Japanese dishes from starters, sushi, donburi, noodle, skewer, teppanyaki, oden, and many others. As we are here to recommend, so we would like to recommend their Chicken Namban and Gyu Karubi Yaki. Their Chicken Namban is to die for! Deep-fried chicken that is juicy topped with Japanese tartar sauce, it has a perfect balance! As for their Gyu Karubi Yaki, a marinated grilled sliced short ribs that taste amazing. Super juicy yet has a very deep grilled scent.

4. Dessert at Sisterfields

Sisterfields is a café with an Australian brunch concept. Before opening one in Jakarta, Sisterfields has previously opened in Bali. The café is located at PIK Avenue. The interior design has a few resemblances to the one at Bali, such as marbled tables, gold ornaments, and a vertical garden. 

You should try their Chocolate Brioche French Toast, a combination of egg toast with caramelized banana, crunchy toppings, and a subtle taste of salty from the salted caramel. It tastes exquisite. All the ingredients enhance the flavors beautifully.
