  1. Tebet Honda Park

In 2010, Tebet Park was neglected until PT. Honda Prospect Motor decided to collaborate with the Jakarta administration. Together, they rejuvenated this abandoned park into one of the best parks in Jakarta today. This park is perfect for athletic people to workout during the weekends. They provide a jogging track, a mini soccer field, and a children’s playground. It’s also a perfect place for you to relax and have a picnic with your friends or family. Want to take some pictures and post them online? Not to worry because this park is also great for taking photos and pictures. Tebet Honda Park is filled with greenery, so the view is going to be spectacular. The park itself is clean, the park custodians are always ready to sweep falling leaves or clean the streets.

  1. Suropati Park 

Situated in Menteng, Suropati Park is one of the most popular urban parks in Jakarta. A lot of people might already visit this park before since this is also one of the oldest parks in Jakarta. Some statues represent the first 6 countries to form ASEAN. these statues symbolize our country’s friendship with the other ASEAN countries. This park is 16.000 square meters big and is shaped like a circle, so traversing along this park won’t be a hard task. This is surely the place to go relaxing as you can enjoy the scenery that has plenty fo trees. This park has a stony path for those who want to experience a traditional foot massage. On weekends, the park will be crowded with people doing various activities. You can also join various free classes such as yoga class, violin class, tai chi class. In the afternoon, you can also hear live music from local musicians performing in the park.

  1. Lapangan Banteng Park 

Lapangan Banteng Park is quite an exciting place to go with your friends and family. Located in Gambir, this park has the historical monument of the Liberation of West Irian. This park is also used as one of the shooting locations for Chris Hemsworth’s movie Blackhat. Quite interesting right? This is the perfect place for people who want to workout during the weekends. You can invite your friends to play basketball in the court and use the area around the monument to jog. The park also has an Instagramable area in the Amphitheatre so you can take pictures there. Near the Amphitheatre, there is a playground for children to play, so it’s a great place to bring your kids. At night you can watch the Dancing Water Fountain as the water move and play songs. It’s a romantic place where you can bring your significant other on a date.

  1. Waduk Pluit Park 
Waduk Pluit Park

This park’s area used to be a slum where thousands of residents used to illegally live there. Thankfully, the Jokowi-Basuki duo can successfully relocate all of them and renovate the area. Now this once grubby park has transformed into an eco-friendly family park where a lot of people love to visit. This green space bordering a lake has paved paths for jogging, and benches for sitting. Like any other park, Waduk Pluit also has a track for joggers and cyclists. You can ride your bike or jog by the waterfront and enjoy the scenery. They also provide an outdoor gym for you to work out after a run. For those who like to fish, you can use the reservoirs to go fishing. You can feel the cool breeze from the waterfront, making you calm while you sit on the bench. All of these facilities are free to use, so you can enjoy all of this without worrying about spending money.

  1. Ayodya Park

Ayodya Park is probably one of Jakarta’s most beautiful parks in Jakarta. This is surprising since it was used to be the site where fish vendors sell their products until 2009. This park circular park is 7500 square meters big with a fountain at its center. There are floating lotus leaves decorated by several lights in the form of octopus too. It is furnished with chairs and steps for sitting with gazebos and restrooms as well. They have jogging tracks that are surrounded by greenery making the scenery more beautiful. If you’re trying to take a peaceful long walk, this is the place to go. What’s special about this park is that they have facilities and toilets for the disabled. During the afternoon, a lot of employees from surrounding buildings like to have lunch in this park. At night, this park is filled with food vendors, making it filled with people eating and relaxing in the benches.
